75,000 customers for Austria’s aonTV

Austrian telco Telekom Austria has reached the 75,000 subscriber mark for its IPTV platform aonTV distributed on its ADSL broadband networks. At the end of 2008, the service had 63,800 customers.

The bouquet, launched in March 2006, is now available to 65% of Austrian households. On board are more than 80 TV channels and a digital video library with blockbuster movies available at the same time as the DVD version is released for sale. Additionally, film classics, TV series and documentaries are offered, with selected titles available in high definition.

Last year alone more than a million titles were downloaded from the video library, the company claims. A TV archive with programmes from public broadcaster ORF as well as interactive services such as weather and traffic reports also form part of the offer.
