Discovery suspends Quest launch
Friday, May 15 2009,

Discovery has suspended the launch of Quest, its first ever free-to-air channel in the UK.

A service licence was granted for Quest by Ofcom , and a placeholder for the channel has broadcast on Freeview since January.
In March, Discovery axed plans for Quest to broadcast 24 hours a day, cutting back its hours to 10am to midnight but confirming May 14 as the launch date.

In a statement, Discovery has now revealed: "Regrettably we have made the decision to postpone the launch of Quest.
"Due to a number of commercial factors we have had to make this difficult decision.

"We did not make this decision lightly and we are working towards launching Quest later in the year."
The broadcaster added: "We would like to apologise wholeheartedly to any of you that have been looking forward to this launch."
