Spain's Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce has signed a contract for €812,000 to launch a DTT information campaign in those cities where the second analogue switch-off will take place on June 30.

Some five million people live in areas covered by the second phase of switch-offs. After the pilot experiences have taken place in several cities such as Soria, the first big digital switch over will afect some 12% of total Spain's population living in a total of 1,286 towns and cities. Among them are Zaragoza, Santiago de Compostela, Oviedo, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Huelva.

The campaing will be aimed at ironing out the numerous doubts a great number of citizens have about the coming switch-off and also to let them know what they must do to watch the new television.
