Motorola delivers 150k IPTV set-tops to Portugal Telecom

Motorola has shipped 150,000 IPTV set-top boxes to Portugal Telecom in support of the latter's IPTV service 'Meo', becoming the preferred supplier for the service.

Motorola has been delivering its VIP1200E and VIP1216E set-top boxes to the Portuguese operator, both of which support high-definition and standard-definition video, with the VIP1216E also featuring a built-in hard drive for PVR functions.

Portugal Telecom reached 312, 000 subscribers for Meo by the end of last year, adding 110,000 customers in the last three months of 2008 alone.
