Fulfilling its pledge to cut costs, Spain's national public broadcaster Corporación RTVE spent 2% less in Q1 this year than in the same period 2008.
Expenses fell from €262 million to €256.8 million, €5.2 million less.
But revenues also fell, down 7.3% to €256.6 million. This reduction corresponds to the present audiovisual market crisis and also to the reduction of advertising by a minute per hour established per law.
However, the Corporation obtained a positive result in its economic results in the quarter, with EBITDA at €179,000 thanks to its active policy of expenditure control.
