The Fast and the Furious : Tokyo Drift
The third installment in the popular series transports viewers to Tokyo, where its bright lights and mesmerizing cityscape make for the perfect backdrop. Before going to Japan, however, we meet our main protagonist: 17-year-old Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), an Arizonian delinquent whose mom has bounced all across the United States due to her son's antics. His latest offense, racing a schoolmate across the city, lands the juvie a court date. The judge offers Sean an ultimatum: go to jail or relocate to Japan. For any young man the choice seems obvious. Sean packs his bags and heads to Japan to live with his father, a U.S. Naval officer. The teenager is free to soak up what Tokyo has to offer, provided it does not involve automobiles of any kind. Naturally, that condition is broken almost immediately thanks to American schoolmate Twinkie (rapper Bow Wow), who introduces Sean to the city's underground racing scene. Though a seasoned speedster back home, Sean knows nothing about Asia's unique style of racing called drifting. Drifting, in short, refers to an almost acrobatic form of driving involving braking and accelerating simultaneously to make sharp, incredibly graceful maneuvers – usually in an urban environment. He's hooked instantly. Sean is also hooked on another man's girl. Neela (Nathalie Kelley) is a half-Japanese half-Australian cutie currently dating Tokyo's number one racer: Takashi (Brian Tee), otherwise known as the 'Drift King' or 'DK' for short. When Takashi notices Neela and Sean talking a bit too intimately he warns him to keep a safe distance. Determined to prove his manliness and despite no experience drifting, Sean challenges DK. Unsurprisingly the newcomer faces a humiliating defeat. DK's close friend, Han Lue (Sung Kang) befriends Sean and teaches him the fundamentals of drifting. In no time the military brat is burning rubber and causing chaos in new territory, struggling to impress Neela and eventually face off against the Drift King one more time. Like its predecessors in the franchise Tokyo Drift was an international success, earning $158 million in ticket sales and easily recuperating its $85 million budget. The soundtrack features high-powered songs by DJ Shadow, The Prodigy, and N.E.R.D. It was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards.

Blade
Blade is an action film loosely based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is about a half-human half-vampire out to rid the world of all vampires to avenge the death of his mother. Thirty-some years after his mother was bit while pregnant with him, Blade now exists somewhere between the two worlds. Neither fully human nor fully vampire, he has become a relentless and superhuman vampire hunter, out to avenge the death of his mother and protect the rest of humankind from the evil vampires. Blade is able to save Dr. Karen after a vampire attack and takes her to his hideaway, a machine-shop run by his mentor Abraham Whistler, who once rescued Blade and who now produces a antidote to keep Blade from turning into a full-fledged vampire and who builds custom weapons for Blade to use against his evil foes. Meanwhile, Blade's vampire arch-nemesis Deacon Frost uses computers to translate the Book of Erebus, with the ultimate aim of bringing down the old-guard vampire council, headed by Dragonetti, and triggering the Blood Tide, an event in which everyone in the world becomes a vampire. The film picked up 4 festival awards and was nominated for 7 others. Rated R for strong, pervasive vampire violence and gore, language and some sexuality.
