    Life Or Something Like It

Lanie is a beautiful, ambitious newscaster who thinks that having the perfect hair, perfect boyfriend and perfect apartment adds up to the perfect life, until an encounter with a street psychic throws her world into chaos. Lanie is adorned in a perfect wardrobe enhanced by her trademark Marilyn Monroe-inspired blonde bouffant hairdo. She is also engaged to a Seattle Mariners star. To top off her perfect life, her boss recommends her for a dream job, a network position in New York City. In order to increase her chances, he sends her to do field work with the renowned but difficult cameraman, Pete. When she's on an assignment, Lanie runs into a homeless man, the prophet Jack, who makes three predictions: that the Seattle Seahawks will beat the Denver Broncos 19-13, that it will hail the following day, and that she'll be dead by next Thursday. When the first two predictions come true, Lanie re-evaluates her life and realizes she's missing out on the smaller things because of her ambition. Angelina Jolie is sexy, adorable, and whimsical in her first comedy role. This movie is rated PG-13 for sexual content, brief violence and language.

    Two Weeks Notice

Millionaire George Wade cannot make a move without Lucy Kelson, his multi-tasking Chief Counsel at the Wade Corporation. Lucy is a brilliant attorney with a strategic mind and also has an ulcer and doesn’t get much sleep. However, it’s not the job that’s getting to her, but George. Smart, charming and undeniably self-absorbed, he treats her more like a nanny than a Harvard-trained lawyer – and can barely choose a tie without her help. Now, after five years of relying on her for every possible decision, and calling her at all hours for help with even the simplest problem, Lucy finally gets fed up with the situation and gives him her two weeks' notice of resignation. Although George makes it difficult for Lucy to leave Wade Corporation, he finally agrees to let her go. Finally, free of George and his 24-hour requests, Lucy is ready to change course. When Lucy realizes that her potential replacement, June Carter, has some strong chemistry with George, she has to acknowledge her own romantic feelings for her boss. Likewise, faced with losing the person he relies upon most, George is forced to do some soul searching of his own. This movie is rated PG-13 for some sex-related humor.

    We Don't Live Here Anymore

Two Couples Struggle With Mixed Emotions Jack Linden and Hank Evans are both good friends who teach English at a local community college. The two are competitive in all endeavors, including their careers and early morning runs together. Hank and Jack’s wives, Edith and Terry respectively are also best friends. The two families spend most of their free time together and when the kids go to sleep the alcohol is popped open, the music plays, and inhibitions are slowly thrown aside. It is within these dynamics that each individual dares to fulfill their own lusts. While the Evans and Lindens both love their spouses, they must also confront their regrets and mutual deficiencies. Hank is unhappy as a professor and truly wishes to pursue a career in writing; Jack desires a wife who possesses at least rudimentary domestic abilities, causing him to take out his frustration on Terry via verbal abuse. The women are also unsatisfied. Edith is fully aware that Hank hunts for other female playmates on the side, while Terry wishes to pursue a career of her own, not content with the role of a traditional housewife. Desperate for escape, the Lindens and Evans secretly swap partners and fulfill their sexual desires elsewhere. Jack, Hank, Terry, and Edith can all sense that something is awry – but they ignore it. The Lindens’ children, however, are fully aware that mommy and daddy are a little too intimate with the neighbors. Is it that both couples’ marriages have reached the end of the road, or are they merely infatuated with the risqué nature of their affairs? Would divorcing their current spouses and marrying anew lead to happiness? This movie is rated R for sexual content and language.

    Stomp the Yard

DJ Williams is an acclaimed street dancer in his native Los Angeles. After winning a heated battle between a rival team, along with a lucrative cash prize, he is robbed and beaten – alongside his brother Duron. While DJ left the brawl relatively unscathed, Duron was not so fortunate and suffered fatal injuries. Despite his brother’s death DJ still faced charges for his role in the fight; rather than spend time in juvenile hall, his mother sends him to live with his aunt and uncle in Atlanta, where he will attend the prestigious, and historically black Truth University. On the first day of school he meets April, a highly attractive female student who is unfortunately spoken for by an upperclassman named Grant. In order to get closer to April, the freshman signs up to be tutored by his love interest. Eventually he steals her away from Grant, but not without some struggle in between. While at school DJ encounters a style of dance he has never seen before known as stepping. While he is impressed by its choreography, its traditional, highly structured form bothers him. After demoing his take on step dancing at a local club, he is soon scouted by two of Truth’s most prominent fraternities: the Theta Nu Theta and Mu Gamma Xi. Eventually DJ pledges the Theta Nu Theta, and teaches its crew how to integrate some fresh, new Hip-Hop influenced dance moves into their routines. Unfortunately the Gamma Xi have been secretly videotaping the Theta’s rehearsals, preparing to steal all of the fraternity’s moves at an upcoming competition. College life is so far rewarding for DJ but not for long. His seedy past back in Los Angeles will come back to haunt him, resulting in his dismissal from Truth and a breakup with April. Stomp the Yard was filmed with a meager budget of $13 million, yet managed to gross a whopping $75 million across the globe. Due to its success a sequel is already in the works, and is slated for release in September 2010. The soundtrack was also highly profitable, featuring artists such as Pitbull, E-40, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and many more. Rating: Rated PG-13 for a scene of violence, some sexual material, and explicit language.

    Night At The Museum

Both children and adults will enjoy the fun and imagination this picture brings, where a nighttime security guard must supervise a living museum that only comes out at night, and spans the entire history of man – in addition to some of its prehistoric animals. Ben Stiller plays Larry Daley, a divorced father and well-meaning failure. Intending to meet his son Nick for a game of hockey, the nearly bankrupt Daley discovers a boot on his vehicle due to unpaid parking tickets, thus making him miss his appointment. Ashamed of disappointing Nick, Larry makes a failed effort to reach his son, only to discover that his ex-wife’s boyfriend has taken him home. To add insult to injury, Nick informs his dad that he no longer wants to play hockey, but that he wants to become a bond trader “like his mother’s boyfriend.” Larry has another problem: he is about to be evicted from his Queens apartment, and it’s not the first time it has happened. Embarrassed and ashamed to fail Nick once again, Larry heads to the unemployment agency to find work and subsequently pay his back rent. Upon showing his resume to an assistant she is befuddled and unable to find even the most menial job for him. Before being kicked out of her office, Larry begs the unemployment assistant to find him any job possible. Reluctantly, she connects him with The New York Museum of Natural History and comments that while she has sent them numerous applicants, all of them were refused. Desperate for employment Larry rushes to the museum; surprisingly, he receives a warm welcome from the former guards and begins work the next night. Strangely, however, Cecil (Dick Van Dyke) warns him not to let anything out of the museum and hands him an instruction manual. Larry begins his shift not by reading the instruction manual, but by taking a nap. He awakes to strange noises down the hall and discovers a dinosaur alive and drinking from a water fountain. When the dinosaur sees Larry it begins chasing him as he runs throughout the museum, learning that at night all of the exhibits come alive. He futility references his instruction manual, only to have it snatched from his hands by a mischievous monkey. Vowing to quit the next day, Larry instead decides to give it another shot, and soon begins to bond with everyone from Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher) to Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams). However the rookie watchman will eventually discover that nights at the museum are not all fun and games. A Night at the Museum is rated PG for mild action, language, and brief rude humor.

No longer the young man he used to be, Pete is ready to announce his retirement to an extremely uninterested press. The public's attention is now on Lizzie, an attractive young American girl expected to take the tennis world by storm. Her father, Dennis is her manager and mentor, trailing her and ensuring that she never waivers from the path of success. Lizzie and Pete’s first encounter is rather unconventional. The pair is staying in the same hotel, along with many other Wimbledon participants and spectators. While searching for his room Pete becomes confused and accidentally wanders into Lizzie’s suite, where he finds the young tennis player taking a shower. Surprisingly calm, Lizzie uses the incident as a excuse to introduce herself, and subsequently establish an unofficial date. It works and they are soon an unofficial couple, snuggling, holding hands and spending intimate time together. But as time passes Lizzie and Pete’s fling turns into something more serious as Lizzie starts developing an emotional attachment to her newfound man. Dennis starts to fear that Lizzie will shift her focus from tennis to romance. Pete, a wildcard pick, is reinvigorated by the sight of Lizzie in the stands, and begins winning a series of matches that rocket him to the top of the tournament. With the genuine possibility of a comeback, Pete’s former sleazy, cell-phone-obsessed publicist tracks down his past client, eager to resume relations. Unfortunately Dennis’ worst fears come to realization; obsessed with Pete rather than the competition, Lizzie is quickly eliminated from the tournament and blames Pete for her downfall. Yet the two cannot deny the strong feelings that exist between them and must eventually come to terms with them, even if Lizzie has lost at Wimbledon. “Wimbledon” features a number of real-life tennis pros on its set, including eighties superstar John McEnroe. Meanwhile Rainbow continues conspiring against Smoochy, eventually tricking him into performing at a neo-Nazi rally.

    The Good Girl

Justine Last (Jennifer Aniston) is an ordinary housewife living in rural Texas. Her husband, Phil (John C. Reilly) is a painter by profession, though not a terribly motivated one. Most of his free time is spent smoking marijuana with his best pal, Bubba (Tim Blake Nelson). Bubba practically idolizes Phil, and subsequently Justine doesn't have much private time with her husband. During the day she works at the fictional 'Retail Rodeo,' a department store of an even lower pedigree than a typical K-Mart or Wal-Mart. Her coworkers are Corny (Mike White) and Gwen (Deborah Rush). The former is a Bible-thumping nut who constantly warns Justine of eternal damnation, while the later is an unhealthily perky makeup girl who gets her jollies by inserting subliminal insults over the store's PA system. Needless to say Justine's life is mundane at best – at least until a new cashier joins the Rodeo's staff: Holden (Jake Gyllenhaal), a manchild in his early 20s who's unusually obsessed with J. D. Salinger's novel The Catcher in the Rye. While the cashier's real name is Thomas Worther he instead adopts the moniker of the book's lead protagonist, Holden Caulfield, a young man alienated from society's hypocrisy and mediocrity. Naturally Justine can identify with Holden, who insists that Thomas is his 'slave name.' Both are searching for an escape from life's tediousness, and both eventually gain solace by rebelling against conformity – even if only in private. Indeed, the secretive aspect of their relationship adds to its excitement. A friendship that began with casual conversation in the checkout lane morphed into daily lunch, which in turn led to hookups in seedy hotels, and eventually to no less than two irreversible, particularly dim events. Yet what about Phil, who despite his shortcomings is a caring husband who means no harm? At one point viewers discover that he too is jaded by life, and abuses drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. Is Holden really a breath of fresh air in Justine's life, or merely an overly simplistic and immature response to an existential crisis that nearly all men and women eventually encounter? Should Justine learn to be content with both Retail Rodeo and Phil, or follow Holden down an undoubtedly exciting, but potentially destructive and emotionally daunting path? The Good Girl marked Aniston's departure from the upbeat characters and topics of her former endeavors such as Friends and Office Space, proving that she is easily capable of more somber and dramatic roles. Anniston's performance earned her a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress alongside 3 additional nominations. While this independent effort earned just $16.8 million it was not a failure considering its mere $5 million budget. Critical response to the film was incredibly positive with very few exceptions. Rating: Rated R for sexuality, some explicit language, and drug use.

Both Sarah and Ben accompany one another back to the airport terminal. The later decides to catch a ride to Savannah with a man named Vic (Jack Kehler); Sarah, already obsessed with Ben, insists on following along. During the trip both begin to bond, at least until police pull their car over. As it turns out, Vic is a drug mule and everyone in the vehicle spends the night in jail. No matter what method of transportation Sarah and Ben choose a problem always seems to occur. If it's not a surprise hurricane, it’s a lack of funds. At one point the two end up stripping at a gay bar for some extra cash. The real problem, however, is not so much the natural disasters that repeatedly impede the couple's trip. As Ben finds himself enjoying Sarah's companionship, he simultaneously begins to doubt his engagement to Bridget. Is the entire journey a divine sign that Sarah is the true girl for him? Back home Bridget has her own moral dilemma: a former boyfriend has reappeared and an obvious spark between them still exists. Like Ben, Bridget's heart begins to wander in a different direction; anxiety levels rise as she struggles to decide between the two men. Failure to Launch

Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker star in a romantic comedy with a twist in which one person is paid to date the other…but she was never meant to fall in love with him! McConaughey plays Tripp, a thirty-five-year old bachelor who still lives with his parents Sue (Kathy Bates) and Al (football legend Terry Bradshaw). Tripp’s parents were never really bothered by their son’s presence, however, one night their friends discuss the joys of living alone, prompting Al and Sue to consider drastic, though veiled, measures for their son’s eviction. With a son in his late thirties of their own, Al and Sue’s buddies give them the name of an expert in ejecting unwanted houseguests – usually adult sons. Tripp’s parents quickly hire Paula- an interventionist. Paula’s plan is quite simple. She believes that adult men continue living with their parents due to a lack of self-esteem. Her solution is to entice said men and then slowly build up their character. She does it by essentially seducing and manipulating her subjects. Paula pretends to be deeply attracted to her client, extremely interested in his life and in need of his assistance during troubling times. When Paula finally convinces her men to live on their own, she soon breaks up with them. However, her clients’ goal has been achieved: the child will not return to their home, leaving them with a proverbial empty nest Yet she soon discovers that Tripp is not like her previous cases….he is very social and very confident. He has no trouble meeting attractive girls and sleeping with them but he despises long-term commitments and uses his lack of independence to his sexual advantage and whenever he is ready to get rid of a girl he simply reveals that he still lives with his parents. Problem solved. Within a few days he finds another victim and moves on As far as social pressure is concerned, Tripp’s best friends Demo (Bradley Cooper) and Ace (Justin Bartha) also live with their parents, and are rather proud of that fact. Given that Paula’s new target fails to fit her washout profile, she loses focus and eventually finds herself falling in love with the handsome and charismatic Tripp. Likewise, Tripp instantly has feeling for Paula and does not resist reciprocating. Things turn sour when Demo learns that Paula was hired by Al and Sue, and tell Tripp – who, naturally, leaves Paula with a not so pleasant goodbye. Al, Sue, Demo, Ace and Paula’s roommate, Kit (Zooey Deschanel) take matters into their own hands and devise a scheme to reunite the two, who despite their misgivings, truly do care for one another. Failure to Launch (2006) was a considerable box office success. With a budget of $50 million it earned a respectable $128 million worldwide, not including DVD sales and rentals. The romantic comedy was nominated for a Kids’ Choice Award, a People’s Choice Award and two Teen Choice awards. It is Rated PG-13 for sexual content, partial nudity and language.

Prince Edward, despite his royalty, is by most standards your average twenty-something guy. He enjoys racing cars and beautiful girls, a pastime that earns him unwelcome publicity in his native Denmark. Yet despite having what would appear to be the perfect life, Edward yearns for independence; he has a desire to understand what it is like to be a common person. More importantly, he yearns to find a common girl – not merely someone of royal lineage who he may or may not actually love. However he has no idea of how to make his dreams a reality until he stumbles upon the infamous American video series, “Girls Gone Wild” where drunken college girls expose themselves in front of cameras. Naïve, Edward believes that if he travels to an American college campus, in this case one in Wisconsin he will be able to meet loose girls like those in the video. This leads Edward to beg his parents to send him to America and fend for himself the following year; his mother sternly objects, but his father believes it would be a good experience for the pampered prince and sends him on his way. Accompanying Edward on his trip is Soren, the prince’s personal secretary. Upon arriving at the university the two accidentally strike Paige with their fancy car. While Paige does not get a glimpse of Edward (who has now adopted the nickname ‘Eddie’), he does get a clear gaze of her, which would in turn lead to an obsession. Eddie eventually sees his love again at a local bar and makes a rather obnoxious pass at her. Rather than respond similarly Paige has the prince ejected from the building. Yet Eddie will have another shot when the two are assigned as lab partners in their chemistry class. With time, Paige begins to enjoy Eddie’s company and they soon become a couple. Unbeknownst to Paige, and indeed the entire campus is that the foreign exchange student is a prince. Naturally Paige discovers Edward’s fib and is less than thrilled, especially after her photo is plastered across international tabloids while in lip lock with him. Candy

Candy follows the harrowing descent of a young couple into the painful enslavement of heroin addiction. Dan and Candy are two young bohemians, who fall madly in love while shooting heroin together. In the beginning, the couple's days are occupied with making love, shoplifting, and having a strung-out wedding day that ends with a lot of giggling over a couple of Big Macs. Despite Candy's disapproving parents, they cling to each other with a fierceness that shuts out any and all outside criticism. When funds or drugs are low they pop by the house of a pharmacology professor named Casper, who uses his professional expertise to supply them with pharmaceutical-grade heroin. As the reality of their addiction creeps to the forefront, they must turn to desperate measures to get their fix. Candy becomes a prostitute, and Dan a thief and con man. Their lives increasingly spiral out of control, and from day to day they go from ecstasy to absolute suffering. However, everything changes, briefly, when she discovers that she is pregnant. Will this Pregnancy change their life? Will Dan and Candy give up drugs for their baby’s sake? The film hits a nerve with its mournful portrait of a romance tainted by drugs. It is a painful movie that avoids glamorizing its subject to honestly convey the tragic consequences. It is also a moving, realistic portrait of how that kind of all-encompassing, obsessive love can sometimes be just as powerful as any drug, and just as hard to kick.

Although a tomboy, she was an attractive young girl and aspired to attend her mother's alma mater: the fictional Southern Atlantic University. After graduating from high school Sydney's dream came true, and the teen hastened to pledge her mother's sorority, Kappa Phi Nu as well. The Kappa's were a prestigious organization that attracted only the campus's most exemplarily girls. Since mom was a Kappa, however, Sydney's admission was guaranteed by the sorority's bylaws. The sorority's president, Rachel Witchburn (Sara Paxton) is peeved by White's lack of fashion sense though; more problematic, the president's ex boyfriend Tyler (Matt Long) has the hots for Sydney. Now Witchburn is prepared to destroy the new pledge's image and eject her from the Kappa's. White is eventually kicked out of the sorority house, but finds refuge at the Vortex: a rundown building on frat row home to the school's most extreme male social outcasts. Her seven geeky roommates, analogous to Snow White's seven dwarf's, are mesmerized by Sydney's femininity. Soon they propel her to second place on the school's hot or not website, a list of the university's most beautiful ladies. When the Kappa reject usurps Rachel's position on the chart, the sorority pres launches a full scale attack on not just Sydney, but the entire Vortex. With the Vortex home under attack Sydney harnesses the seven dorks' intelligence to defeat Witchburn once and for all. Will the meek inherit the campus? The picture's soundtrack features tracks from Rihanna and Dashboard Confessional. Rating: Rated PG-13 for some explicit language, sexual humor, and partying.

Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde

In the first installment of the Legally Blonde saga, brainy and buxom Elle Woods, managed to get herself accepted into Harvard law school, where she passed with flying colors. In Legally Blonde 2, the lady lawyer is a promising protégé in a big law firm and is hoping to settle down with the man of her dreams. Her dog Bruiser will attend the wedding, but Elle would like Bruiser's mother to attend as well. Hiring a private investigator Elle soon learns that Bruiser's mother is being held in a cosmetic testing facility belonging to a company whose account is handled by her firm. Elle is adamant about changing the unjust policies directed against 'those who can't speak for themselves' – namely animals and thus brings up the testing facility and her suggestion to close it in the company's annual meeting with her firm- and is unfortunately fired for her efforts. But this will not stop the brave and bubbly blonde and the minor snag in her plans inspires her to seek justice on Capitol Hill, so she heads to Washington, where in the floor's tapestry of black, grey and navy suits she sticks out like a pink thumb. But ‘Capitol Barbie’ is not in the least intimidated. With her arsenal of ex-sorority contacts, a sense of humor and style she manages to rally blondes across the country to back her bill on Capitol Hill. Director Charles Herman-Wurmfeld brings us the 2003 "Legally Blonde 2", the sequel to the 2001 "Legally Blonde". This comedy is based on the novel by Amanda Brown, humorously scripted by Dennis Drake. With a budget of close to $45,000,000 and gross box-office revenues totaling $124,914,842, the film was considered a hit. This movie is rated PG-13 for some sex-related humor.

An updated version of the 1980 musical, which centered on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts. This remake focuses on a group of young students attending a high school for the performing arts. Classmates study various aspects of performance from dance to songwriting to acting, all of them hoping for the chance to one day become stars. Students learn on the first day of classes that their teachers expect them to know everything. In dance class, Ms. Kraft is worried about Kevin Barrett's dancing, but is impressed by Alice Ellerton. In acting class, Jenny Garrison feels uncomfortable to let loose like everyone else. In music class, Mr. Cranston gives Victor Tavares pointers, while Denise Dupree plays the music perfectly on the piano. In the lunchroom, everyone performs "This Is My Life", while Denise and Malik Washburn escape the madness and talk. Denise says that her parents would die if they saw this. Malik reveals that his mom doesn't even know that he's attending the school. Just before freshman year ends, Malik's mom finds out that he is attending P.A. He still attends. Relative Strangers

Dr. Richard Clayton thought he had the perfect life as a successful psychologist, who earns a respectable salary and with a fiancée Ellen, whom he adores. But at the age of 34 Richard discovers that he is adopted. He decides to hire a private detective who swiftly locates his actual parents and he quickly invites his biological mother and father to visit. Richard’s adopted parents Doug and Arleen Clayton provided their son with an upper class lifestyle, complete with inevitable snobbishness. The young doctor’s life is a dream until his alcoholic brother, Mitch makes it known that he is an adopted child. Richard’s first contact with his estranged parents is over the phone. Elated to finally talk to them he promptly invites the couple to stay at his luxurious home. When the doorbell rings and Richard lays his eyes upon Frank and Agnes Menure he is disappointed to say the least. Frank and Agnes are short and stocky and dressed in mismatched, tacky clothing. To top it off, Frank sports a blatantly obvious and horrible looking toupee. However looks are deceiving and Richard remains optimistic. Unlike their biological son the Menures are far from medical professionals. Rather than a large house they reside in a trailer park and are circus workers. To make matters worse their mannerisms are embarrassingly backward: they are loud, obnoxious, and crude. Richard, an anger management specialist, has his skills repeatedly put to the test as the Menures crash Richard’s book signing and trash his home after a wild party. But can Richard look past the Menures’ crude mannerisms and realize that, despite their flaws, they gave birth to a successful son? Or will this be their first and last encounter?

    The Prince & Me

Even if the small town girl should decide to forgive Eddie, would she be willing to forfeit her career as a doctor and accept the title of princess, and eventually queen? “The Prince and Me” was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. Cheaper by the Dozen

Growing pains? They've got twelve of them! In modern America, where the average family has 1.87 children, Tom Baker and wife Kate have decided that life is better, if not cheaper, by the dozen as they attempt to deal with their massive brood of twelve. College sweethearts Tom and Kate both dreamed of having both fulfilling careers and a huge family. But after they had a few kids, Kate gave up her career as a sportswriter, Tom abandoned his hope of becoming the coach of their alma mater's football team, and they moved their brood from the city to the country. Now, after 12 children and a happy life in rural Illinois, Tom has been offered the chance to live his dream and coach the Stallions. No sooner does the family pack up and move to Chicago to pursue Tom's dream job than Kate's ship comes in as well: a publisher has picked up her manuscript based on her experiences raising 12 children. Of course, there's a hitch. Kate has to go to New York for a few days, leaving Tom as the primary caregiver for his clan. With all hell breaking loose at home, Kate on the road, and Tom’s job on the line, the Baker family ultimately chooses not to have it all, but to love what they do have. Can Tom hold it together with his kids--who didn't want to move in the first place--pulling him one way and the university pulling him the other? The Foot Fist Way

Fred Simmons (Danny R. McBride) is a small-town karate instructor who owns and operates a strip mall dojo. In general, Simmons' students idolize their teacher despite his obvious lack of skill -- and in some cases human decency. As the sole Taekwondo 'expert' in the city however the wannabe sensei feels important, partially because his pupils have no superior alternative to compare him to but mostly because he is well -- a total jerk. While Simmons may have control over his dojo he has no control over his adulterous, spandex-obsessed wife, Suzie (Mary Jane Bostic). Their already crumbling relationship reaches its nadir when Fred learns that Suzie is two-timing her husband while at work; adding insult to injury, he discovers that her business documents are nothing more than photocopies of her bare breasts and derrière. The relationship eventually comes to a screeching halt and she is booted from Fred's home. The breakup leaves the instructor extremely bitter, causing him to belittle and punish his students in retribution. Faithful customers flee from the business in frustration, while potential members are sexually harassed, insulted, and subsequently scared away. In order to raise Fred's spirits, he travels to meet his lifelong hero, fellow pseudo-professional martial artist and B movie star Chuck 'the Truck' Wallace (Ben Best). Unfortunately the meeting is more damaging than therapeutic; a glimpse into Chuck's everyday life reveals a troubled alcoholic, womanizer, and overall mess. Rather than allow this discovery to drag Simmons deeper into depression he uses it to confront his fears and character flaws. He invites Chuck to his dojo for a public fight, with an audience comprised of his students and adversaries -- namely Suzie. Fred's greatest opponent is not another man though, but his own ego. Whether or not the faux-sensei can defeat Wallace or reverse years of distasteful behavior remains to be seen, however laughs and numerous awkward moments are guaranteed. The Foot Fist Way was filmed on a shoestring budget and unearthed by Will Ferrell who claims to have watched the movie more than 20 times. One might describe it as a mash up of Napoleon Dynamite and Anchorman. The picture earned a modest $245 thousand in theaters, triple its $79 thousand cost of production and rendering it a commercial success. That does not account for home media sales and rentals however, where its cult status is most apparent. Rating: Rated R for strong language and some sexual content

    Barnyard

The Secret Lives Of Animals Beyond The Barn Doors “Barnyard” is an amusing tale of animals who, when humans are not present, take on human characteristics such as driving cars, talking, and even walking on four legs instead of two. Fortunately, the tight-knit community of cows, chickens, and other livestock are taken care of by a strictly vegetarian farmer, who has no interest in slaughtering them. The primary characters are anthropomorphic cows that, despite their large size, manage to do seemingly impossible things. Ben, the elder of the group is in his final years and pleads with his son, Otis to leave behind his wild, irresponsible, life of partying. His son’s future is particularly important to Ben since, after his passing, Otis will inherit his father’s responsibilities; in his current state Otis is far too immature to do so. Otis is forced to grow up quick though when coyotes kill his father. No longer can he have wild, fraternity-like parties, steal cars and create mischief. His focus now is to protect the farm from outside intruders, including not only predatory animals, but also a teenage prankster who enjoys tipping the cows over while they sleep. But does Otis have the strength to lead a new generation of animals? His ability will be tested repeatedly and not only will his life and dignity be at stake, but also the lives of every animal under his supervision. The film’s soundtrack features a surprisingly well-rounded roster of musicians that will appeal to adults and children alike. This movie is rated PG for some mild peril and rude humor.

    City of Angels

Maggie Rice (Meg Ryan) is a secular heart surgeon, unconvinced that a spiritual world or afterlife exists. As a practitioner of medicine she has been trained to search for empirical evidence in all situations; therefore any theoretical or theological claims without tangible proof are immediately dismissed. An otherworldly experience will ultimately challenge Rice's thinking though, while simultaneously touching her heart and soul. During what would ordinary be a routine heart operation, Maggie struggles to revive a man who has suddenly slipped into cardiac arrest. The doctor is a perfectionist who refuses to accept defeat, even when it is seemingly beyond her control. Indeed, her patient's time had already been written, and no amount of effort could have saved him. As a testament to that an angel had entered the operating room preceding his death, tasked to escort the man's soul to heaven. Upon the angel's arrival Maggie feels a strange presence in the room, despite no observable causes. At that moment the angel, named Seth (Nicolas Cage) had laid his eyes upon her, and immediately fell in love. Invisibility initially prevents Seth from introducing himself to Maggie, at least until fellow angel Cassiel (Andre Braugher) explains how. No longer hidden to the world, Seth approaches the doctor and introduces himself. The two form a close friendship, but Maggie is frightened to discover Seth's immunity to injury. Up until this point Seth concealed his true identity, a truth so extraordinary that any person would question his sanity -- and quite likely end the relationship. Nevertheless Maggie maintains feelings for Seth, forcing her to make a difficult decision after receiving a colleague's wedding proposal. The prospect of marrying a spiritual being visible to only her, and incapable of romantic relations seems bleak. When Seth meets a jolly man named Nathaniel (Dennis Franz) however, a possible solution is revealed. City of Angels performed beyond expectations at the box office earning nearly $200 million, effortlessly recuperating its $55 million budget. The picture was nominated for multiple awards, including a Golden Globe, Grammy, and MTV Movie Award. Its soundtrack features performances by Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan, U2 and many more. Rating: Rated PG-13 for sexuality including explicit language, and some nudity.

    Meet the Fockers

Meet the Fockers is the sequel to the hit movie Meet the Parents. In the second installment of the comedy hit movies Pam, the daughter of a retired CIA agent, has been given permission by her tough dad to marry Gaylord "Greg" Focker. The couple decide to travel to Miami, Florida, with Pam’s parents and nephew and their cat to meet Greg’s quirky liberal parents, Roz and Bernie Focker. Greg’s mother, Roz, is a sex therapist for the elderly, while his dad is a prosecutor who stopped practicing when Greg was born to be a stay-at-home dad. On the other hand, Pam’s parents Jack and Dina are traditionally conservative, the point that produces many of the movie's set ups and comic situations. Meet The Fockers has assembled a historic, once-in-a-lifetime cast, which portrayed the movie characters in an exciting way. It is noticed that every conversation is totally inappropriate and downright embarrassing, keeping audiences braced for the next disaster. The film was a commercial success and is the highest grossing live action comedy in history. It gained a total worldwide gross of $516,642,939. The movie also won the ASCAP and the MTV Movie Awards. Building on this success, “Meet the Fockers” will continue with another sequel, “Little Fockers.”

Greg’s mother, Roz, is a sex therapist for the elderly, while his dad is a prosecutor who stopped practicing when Greg was born to be a stay-at-home dad. The Prince & Me

Even if the small town girl should decide to forgive Eddie, would she be willing to forfeit her career as a doctor and accept the title of princess, and eventually queen? “The Prince and Me” was nominated for a Teen Choice Award. A search for real estate leads Nick to rural Oregon, where a large mansion becomes the family’s new home – though not without many problems along the way. Afterwards, Robbie finds consolation in his friendship with Julia Sullivan, an effervescent ray of light in the shape of a catering-service waitress at the wedding receptions and bar mitzvahs where he performs. Julia asks Robbie to help her plan her upcoming wedding to sleazy Glenn, DeLorean-driving junk bond salesman who tomcats around and treats women like unfeeling slabs of meat. Julia has no idea Glenn is such a sleaze ball and Robbie is starting to fall for her. Can Robbie win Julia over before she elopes to Las Vegas? Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore play their parts as if the story has never been told before. Most of the time, the script allows them to act believable, giving the well-worn plot some crackle. Little Nicky

When your mother is an angel and your father is the devil, life can be really confusing. For Little Nicky, it just got a whole lot worse. His two evil brothers have just escaped from Hell and are wreaking havoc on an unsuspecting earth. Having been the "Prince of Darkness" for ten thousand years, Satan assembles his sons to decide which of them will succeed him, but instead he keeps the throne for himself. Angered by this decision, Adrian and Cassius go to Earth to create a new Hell by possessing religious and political leaders in New York City. As they leave, they freeze the entrance to Hell, preventing more souls from entering and causing Satan's body to begin decomposing. To stop Adrian and Cassius, Satan sends Nicky to Earth with a silver flask that traps whoever drinks from it inside. At first, Nicky has trouble staying alive on Earth. He is killed several times, landing in Hell and returning to New York each time. While learning how to eat and sleep, he meets a talking bulldog named Mr. Beefy, rents an apartment with an actor named Todd and falls in love with a design student named Valerie. Nicky's first encounter with his brothers occurs when Adrian sees him with Valerie, takes mental control of his body and makes him scare her away. Then Nicky sees Cassius on television, possessing the referee of a Harlem Globetrotters game. When he goes to the court and tricks Cassius into the flask, Satanist metalheads John and Peter are so thrilled with his performance that they become his devoted fans. That evening, Nicky tries to apologize to Valerie. The meeting goes badly at first, but she accepts him after he explains who he is and why he is on Earth. Can Nicky find his inner evil in time to save the world? This movie is rated PG-13 for crude sexual humor, some drug content, language and thematic material.

    Revolutionary Road

Author Richard Yates penned his popular novel Revolutionary Road in 1961; immediately film studios were interested in adapting it to the big screen, though debates about the project's execution and profitability stalled its creation for decades. Once a screenplay had been developed in the 90s, an already ailing Yates deemed it unsuitable; his death soon thereafter lessened the prospects of a film adaptation even further. Fortunately, the writer's wife eventually agreed to a screenplay by Justin Haythe, one that she believed remained faithful to her husband's original work. Revolutionary Road features Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as Frank and April Wheeler, a thirty-something suburbanite couple from Connecticut. Both have forfeited their dreams and conformed to 50s American social norms, believing that happiness would subsequently follow. Instead their lives increased in monotony: April's acting ambitions are crushed, and Frank's job hawking office equipment leaves him angry and unfulfilled. The birth of two children completely destroys any hope that the couple had of pursuing unconventional paths in life. A glimmer of hope appears however when April suggests selling the couple's home, withdrawing their savings, and relocating to Paris. There she hopes to find work as a secretary or translator, while Frank takes time to search for a profession he truly enjoys. Although he is initially hesitant, Mr. Wheeler eventually agrees to the idea, devastating best friends Milly (Kathryn Hahn) and Shep Campbell (David Harbour). April's plans are halted when Frank receives a rewarding promotion at work, one that proves less tedious than his former routine. Infidelity eventually drives the couple even further apart, as both realize that they were in love with the prospects of a picturesque American life, but not each other. Revolutionary Road marks DiCaprio and Winslet's first pairing since 1997's Titanic, though this time in a vastly different dynamic. The picture was a critical and commercial success, earning a Golden Globe and three Oscar nominations. At the box office ticket sales totaled $75 million, effortlessly recuperating its $35 million budget. Its soundtrack features songs by The Ink Spots, The King Cole Trio, Art Blakey and many other popular 50s artists. Rating: Rated R for explicit language and some sexual content/nudity

    Message in a Bottle

New Jersey wedding singer Robbie Hart loses all hope after being abandoned at the altar by his fiancee Linda, who decides that the prospect of marrying a guy who sings at wedding receptions doesn't equal the attraction she felt when he was lead singer in a rock band. The Wedding Singer is cheesy fun for the nostalgically inclined. Steve Buscemi tries to steal the film in an uncredited role as a drunk best man, but that honor actually goes to Alexis Arquette, as "George." This movie is rated PG-13 for sex-related material and language.

    Nanny Mcphee

Widower Cedric Brown is at his wits' end. His seven children have just scared off their 17th nanny since their mother passed away and seem to have exhausted all local resources. Then, as if by magic, Nanny McPhee appears out of the blue, literally warts and all. This governess has a different approach to minding Mr. Brown's wild brood; each tap of her walking stick seems to work magic and impart a much-needed lesson. Although the children are determined to chase her away, they soon discover how much they really need her. But the Brown family has another problem. Stern Great Aunt Adelaide, the late Mrs. Brown's aunt, has been supporting the family and has issued an ultimatum to Cedric: he must marry by month's end or she will cut off all financial support. Cedric is reluctant to marry just anyone, and his options appear to be limited to the garish widow Selma Quickly. Will he marry to keep his family intact, or have his children learned enough to help him find love again? Firth and an understated Thompson are in fine form, and Lansbury, Imrie, Derek Jacobi, and Peter Barlow are a delight in their supporting roles, as are the children. The costumes and set are infused with vivid colours that lend a larger-than-life, fanciful feel to the film, adding to the magic. This movie is rated PG for mild thematic elements, some rude humour and brief language.

    Last Holiday

Emmy and Academy Award nominated star of blockbusters “Chicago” (2002), “Ice Age: The Meltdown” (2006), and “Bringing Down the House” (2003) Queen Latifah portrays Georgia Byrd, an average girl with inner-beauty and only three weeks to live. Starring alongside Latifah is rap colleague LL Cool J who depicts Sean Williams, Georgia’s shy and handsome coworker who she secretly adores. “Last Holiday” (2006) is a remake of the identically titled British classic featuring Alec Guinness. . Georgia Byrd works at a high scale New Orleans department store selling kitchenware and preparing food samples for its customers. She is an aspiring cook who is addicted to the Food Network and loves watching superstar chef, Emeril Lagasse prepare dishes. When at home, she practices her culinary skills, recreating the delicious dishes featured on Food Network programs. Strangely, however, she never eats them. Extremely self-conscious regarding her weight, Georgia opts instead to eat a low fat, frozen dinner from Weight Watchers. She is frugal, sensible, sweet, single and to her dismay, dreadfully lonely. At work she drools over her coworker Sean. While both Sean and Georgia feel the attraction they are both too shy to articulate it. When it seems that the two are about to spark a relationship, Georgia bangs her head against an open kitchen cabinet, requiring medical evaluation. After receiving a CAT scan, Dr. Gupta (Ranjit Chowdhry) reveals that Georgia suffers from a rare neurological disorder, and that the blow to the head accelerated it. Subsequently, she has just three to four weeks to live; surgery could possibly save her life, but there are no guarantees – and more importantly, her insurance refuses to cover it. But it’s only when she’s about to die does Georgia really start to live and she quickly withdraws her life’s savings and heads to Grandhotel Pupp, a luxurious resort located in the Czech Republic. Pupp is home to one of her culinary idols, world-renowned Chef Didier (Gérard Depardieu). The Louisiana born newcomer soon becomes a popular fixture at the resort, lending her simple but direct advice to its patrons – including a self-help guru and the senator of her home state, who happens to be visiting with his mistress. Though terminally ill, Georgia lives life to its fullest. At the resort’s casino she collects a healthy sum during a game of roulette. She also catches the attention of Chef Didier, who is impressed by Georgia’s cooking skills and even allows her to prepare a few dishes in his kitchen – an honoring gesture. Despite her newfound fame, the lonely store clerk still yearns for those close to her – especially Sean. Just as Georgia attempts to return home an avalanche leaves her trapped inside Pupp; unbeknownst to her, she has a visitor immediately on the other side Last Holiday was nominated for two Teen Choice Awards. Its soundtrack features a number of soul classics by the likes of Marvin Gaye, The Staples Singers, Isaac Hayes, and many more. It is rated PG-13 for some sexual references with a runtime.

    Stardust

The many threads of the story intertwine seamlessly, unfolding at an unforced pace that complements the movie's magical special effects. Charlie Cox stars as Tristan, a somewhat bumbling shopkeeper's assistant in the sleepy English village of Wall, so named for the stone barrier that separates it from the magical realm of Stormhold. Tristan is in love with the beautiful, dismissive Victoria, who much prefers her other suitor, Humphrey, since he has travelled all the way to Ipswich to buy her an engagement ring. Tristan, in a last-ditch effort to win Victoria's affections, offers to bring her a fallen star they've just seen, and she agrees to marry him if he can deliver. Unbeknownst to Tristan, he is the product of his father's sole excursion to Stormhold, where he had a tryst with a mysterious slave girl who said she was a princess. As Tristan retraces his father's steps he discovers that the "star" is actually a beautiful young woman named Yvaine. A trio of witches, led by a delightfully wicked Michelle Pfeiffer, wants to capture Yvaine to cut out her heart and gain eternal youth, while the three remaining sons of the recently deceased king (Peter O'Toole) compete with one another to find the gem Yvaine wears around her neck. With special effects that never outshine the performances and a sweet story peppered with hints of Gaiman's dark sensibility, STARDUST is a truly enchanting fairy tale. This movie is rated PG-13 for some fantasy violence and risque humor.

    The Illusionist

The Illusionist is an Academy Award-nominated film that is loosely based on Steven Millhauser's story "Eisenheim the Illusionist" about a world where nothing is as it seems and an illusionist and a police inspector face off in a challenge of wills that attempts to determine where reality ends and magic begins, blurring the line between power and corruption, love and devotion, and ultimately, life and death. Edward Norton plays a mysterious stage magician, Eisenheim, who bends nature's laws to his will in front of awestruck crowds. When Eisenheim begins to perform his astounding illusions in Vienna, word quickly spreads of the man with other worldly powers, even reaching the ears of one of Europe's most powerful men, Crown Prince Leopold (Rufus Sewell). Leopold attends one of Eisenheim's shows, convinced that he can debunk him during the performance. But when the Prince's beautiful fiancé and companion, Sophie, assists the magician onstage, Eisenheim and Sophie recognize each other from their childhood and a dormant love affair is rekindled. It quickly becomes apparent that both men will go to any length to claim and keep Sophie's love, which is where Vienna's Chief Inspector, Uhl, enters as he is assigned by Leopold to expose Eisenheim, even while the magician gains a devoted and vocal public following. With Uhl doggedly searching for the reasons and the man behind the trickery, Eisenheim prepares to execute his greatest illusion yet. The film was nominated for Oscar Award for best achievement in cinematography in 2007. It won Critics Choice Award for best composer (Philip Glass), Achievement Award for outstanding achievement in filmmaking acting (Jessica Biel) and SDFCS Award for best cinematography (Dick Pope) in 2006. With a production budget of US$ 16.5 millions, the movie grossed US$ 40 millions in domestic market and achieved moderate success worldwide, with revenues amounting to US$ 47 millions. The film is rated PG-13 for some sexuality and violence.
