Hi, you're not telling us much.
    Have you unpacked it?
Have you got an existing dish set up on a sat?
If not, we'll have to explain all that.
If so, which sat? Optus C1 for Aurora or Foxtel, perhaps?
I can assure you it won't work on a piece of wet string hanging out the window.
Next you need to hook it up to the "Idiot Box" via scart or RCA connectors.
I'm not sure how you'll get on if you do not have a subscription card, but should get FTA #.

I do hope that you do not think that I'm being facetious, believe you me, we all had to start somewhere. I am still on a very steep learning curve myself.

In short, please tell us your set up and if you cannot follow the installation manual that comes with the STB? Can you get the menu up via the remote?
I do hope that this is of some help, but need further info to help you.:D

    Kindest Regards, Bill.

Hi "cockato", I'll have to clarify some points first, starting at the dish.
What diameter is it? 65 cm? What type of LNBs are they? Should be 'standard or universal'.
What are the LO frequencies? (standard = 11300) or (universal is HI = 10600 and LO =9750).
I don't understand why an Austar setup would use two LNBs, unless you were using two STBs.
Are there two Co-Ax down leads with a little box with a single Co-Ax going to the STB?
If so what are the markings on it. You may have two Co-Ax sockets at the back of the STB, but you only use one. Usually the top one. The other is a feed-through for a second STB.
The above info is critical for the rest of the setup.
If you were getting Austar OK, DON'T MOVE THE DISH.
I'll wait for your answers before we proceed. Please give as much info as possible.
By the way, if you are in a poor reception area, you are entitled to use a lifetime Aurora card. (Cost around $100 with ABC, SBS and three commercial networks.)

    Kindest Regards, Bill.

    Re: Fortec Star Section.

Hi "cockatoo", Just slow down to a gallop. You cannot get those other birds just because they are listed.
Your dish has to be pointing at one SAT. at a time. You're pointing at a bird about the size of a fridge with a very narrow line(1 or 2 degrees). Let's not confuse the basic setup with various ways to get multiple SATs with one dish. You've got to learn to crawl before you walk.
My supper is burning I'll get back to you in the morning when I've sorted out your setup.
    Kindest Regards, Bill.

    Talking Re: Fortec Star Section.

    Hi "cockatoo",
I knew that I would have nightmares if I didn't clarify a few things.
Let's stick to the BASICS of those questions that I asked. Answer them!
It's LNB, not LMB. It stands for Low Noise Block converter.
What you apparently have is an Ortho Mode LNB. This in effect a dual LNB, so that each STB can operate indepently of the other.
So to keep things simple, ignore one of the Co-Ax downleads. You can setup another STB later.
I won't go into the significence of what the Local Oscillator frequency of your LNB is, BUT needless to say it is essential to input this in your STB menu setup.
So again I ask you, what does it say on the plate of the LNB. If it dosn't make sense to you, it will to me. You don't have to understand the questions, just answer them.
When we get all this sorted out then we can set up the STB.

I'll say it again here, you can only get one SAT at a time with your dish setup. It's obviously pointing at "Optus C1".That' it!!:p

    Kindest Regards, Bill.
