hi beer so about the long time b4 i replied thursday to satudays are busy here with kids sports i do that tomorrow let u know whats written on the lnb also i got delivered a FSIR-5400 its another fortec star model is this 1 better than the 5600v2 model to use cheers cockatoo

As near as I can see by the specs, they are similar, except the FSIR has an Irdeto embedded slot. But let's make one thing clear, as near as I can see, neither has "BLIND SCAN".
To be honest, I think that you're getting yourself into Information Overload.:rolleyes:

Hi "cockatoo", getting that info out of you was like "getting blood out of a stone".:p
Let me briefly explain why it was absolutely essential.

The 10.7 GHz is the local oscillator frequency of your LNBF.
The 11.7~ 12.7 GHz is the input frequency range of the LNBF. (ie. the range of transponders that you can receive from any one SAT.). You cannot see two SATs with a fixed pole mount dish. Unless, ???, but that is a completely different story.
The LNBF has a frequency mixer as well as the local oscillator.
When you input two frequencies to a mixer, you get the sum and difference ferquencies.
In this case we are only interested in the difference frequencies range. (ie. 1000 ~2050 MHz.)
11.7 GHz minus 10.7 MHz equals 1000 MHz and 12.75 GHz minus 10.7 MHz equals 2050 MHz.
Now the input frequency range of both the FSCO-5600V2 and FSIR-5400 is 950 ~2150 MHz.
This more than covers the possible range of transponders that you can use.(11.7 ~ 12.75 GHz).

I'll let you digest all that while I draw up your setup procedure.

Hi "cockatoo", you certainly keep me hopping. (Not unlike a kangaroo.)

In this world (universe), a rotator is used to adjust the Horizontal/Vertical SKEW of the LNB.
It is part of the LNB and can be Dialectric, Ferro Magnetic, Mechanical or Electro Magnetic.

What you may have in mind is called a Horizon to Horizon Motor which adjusts Azimuth/Elevation and Skew. More than one variation of this.

You may have noticed when you were looking at your LNB that it twisted about 30 degrees clockwise as you look from the SAT into the DISH. Leave it like that. It is the preset SKEW used on OPTUS SATs. C1, B1 and B3. Most other SATs use normal SKEW.

Hi "cockatoo", now back to business, been flat chat for the last few days.
Do not press the 'factory reset', it will cause you a lot of extra work.
Select 'Menu'. right arrow to 'installation'. down arrow to 'antenna setup'.
Find C1, highlight, OK, You should have a 'tick' alongside C1, R or L arrow to 'Standard LNB, down arrow, change that No. to 10700, using numeric keys.
Now down arrow and highlight each of these in turn and use R/L arrow to set them as follows:
22KHz = Off, DiSEqC = Off, LNB Power = On, 0/12 Volt = Off, Positioner setting = Disable.
Do not use SAT scan.Exit, OK to save, Exit again, should be at 'installation' Menu again. At the bottom, highlight 'edit TP/SAT., OK, Edit/delete, select Edit. This brings up the list of TPs for that SAT. Use up arrow to No.1 TP, Use numeric keys to change frequency to 12407, down arrow to Symbol rate, change to 30000, down arrow to 'Polarity', R/L arrow to Vertical, Exit to 'installation', up/down arrows to 'SAT Scan', OK.
If you've done everything correctly, it will scan all the TPs that are listed.
This should put the Aurora Channels at the TOP of the list.
You need to get the latest Lyngsat Chart for the latest TPs & Symbol rates to edit the SAT/TP list. Remember what I told you earlier, You wont get TPs outside the LNB range of 11.700 ~ 12.750 GHz.
I think that you will find most channels are encrypted, so you may have to get a "Lifetime Aurora Card" to get whatever FTA channels there are.

Now you are probably itching to try getting more out of your STB.
YOU WILL HAVE TO DO A LOT OF READING AND LEARNING, IT WON'T COME ON A SILVER PLATTER. However ENJOY. I hope that I haven't missed anything vital.:D

hi beer and thanx for the reply and the work u done to get me started on this i been reading and starting to understand what iam doing now the 5600 v2 is conax i looked on there and no c1 but on the 5400 it is there so i writen down u instructions and will do tomorrow night once agin a big thank-you for this cheers cockatoo
