France’s TV5 Monde has launched its 3rd channel covering Asia-Pacific, TV5 Monde Pacific, the 9th channel worldwide from the French-language network.
TV5 Monde Pacific is targeting countries in the GMT+8 to GMT+12 zones, including Australia and New Zealand and North Asia. The signal will be available for operators from IntelSat 8 using MPEG4.
The channel will subtitle, firstly in English, before introducing a Japanese-subtitled feed later in the year.
TV5 Monde already offers TV5 Monde Middle East and TV5 Monde Asia. Those channels are available in 32 million and 18 million homes respectively.
