help 1st time

i have a new Humax 5400 from a friend who wanted to get rid of this because he could not watch program .i want someone to help me to do this.if i am right the first thing to do is to change loader so i can load then the HoT 3.4 ver 11.1 (newest)as i see firmware;so with what program and what soft i can do this;thanks in advance
