All-English radio in Korea falls below expats’ expectations

Three all-English radio channels in Korea fall short of their stated purposes of helping upgrade expats’ quality of life, according to the results of a recent satisfaction survey among foreign listeners. In the survey, only 11.7 percent gave “excellent” marks, saying that the introduction of the radio stations helped enrich their life.

These people said they were a good source of information, particularly about weather and traffic, and cultural and sporting events. Nearly half of the respondents or 49.8 percent said the impact of these stations on their lives was minuscule.
