Yes, it´s true. And no, haven´t heard of a package (AFAIK) to replace TPS on Hotbird.

TPS merged with the other French provider CANALSAT on Astra. The last TPS channels are supposed to leave Hot Bird in autumn 2008. Multivision channels are supposed to stop transmitting on Hot Bird by the end of May 2008.
AFAIK is not a package. It stands for "As Far As I Know".
