Yes it actually works without connection, as this box connects to a satellite/server and updates the keys automatically without user intervention (although you may need to update the software on the dongle now and then to ensure latest functionality)
You need an additional dish as the Microbox uses it for getting/updating the key.

The dongle has an expiration date (around 1 year).
I don't know what would happen once that date is reached, might need knew software, might become useless.

problem is that the channels are cutting too much that they're unwatchable.
While watching picture freezes and i get the message "Encrypt program". I have to wait some time before it resumes.
Some channels are more affected by this than others.
I am trying to sort this out, will keep u posted.
If any1 knows the reason for this please keep me posted.

I have no idea as I did not do the installation/configuration myself.

And regarding the freezing it just happened 1 day, next day everything was fine again.
Some channels still freeze from time to time but just for a while, it doesn't spoil the experience, and i don't know if it happens to all Microbox users or just me.
