The procedure SHOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM: I do not have a clone DREAMBOX then I have not personally tested.
The attack towards clones of DreamBox is done remotely controlling the MAC address of your receiver.
The clones and the originals have MAC address similar, but NOT the same: the clones have a MAC address that starts so 00:12:25: xx: xx: xx [that identifies the network card of your clone produced by Motorola] while the original DMM have a MAC address that starts so 00:09:34: xx: xx: Xx [network interface card produced by the same DMM].
Having said that, you can change the MAC address of your decoder, making your clone identical to the original [with regard to the MAC address of course]:
Building a init file with a different MAC address, simply using the NOTEPAD: put in the file as follows
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down ; ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:48:21:0A:33:26 ; ifconfig eth0 up
And save the file as. Init
With DCC2.94 [or any other program to transfer files on your DMM or cloen that is] copy the file. Init in the / var / etc.
Revenue in telnet on your decoder and write
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down ; ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:09:34:xx:xx:xx ; ifconfig eth0 up
Where: xx: xx: xx can put any value you want [for example 00:09:34:12:34:56]:
press ENTER to run the command.
To verify that your MAC address has been changed actually typed
Code:
ifconfig
And press ENTER to run the command
To check what your MAC address in advance, you can enter the following command
Code:
/proc/bus/dreambox
And pressing ENTER to run
In summary:
If the MAC address begins with 00:12:25 your decoder is a FAKE
If the MAC address begins with 00:09:34 your decoder is ORIGINAL DMM
