I can get Pas 2 channels but they are encrypted. I would buy a card for my HTS 9300 to get them if I knew where to get one from. Probably the only problem is where I live, in NZ. Can anyone give me any pointers or help.

Apparently Powervu encrypted. Can't be hacked. WinWest and GWNtv look good channels. I'm not sure who the intended audience is. I'm also in NZ & would like to view these if someone could help.![]()
G'Day Cobbers,
Cannot understand the interest in PAS2.
I have checked and seems a loss.
The Channels your looking for are FTA on Optus B1, HOWEVER, it was reported on ApSatTV a couple of weeks ago that these were being moved to Optus B3, from the end of May, as B1 was running out of gas.
Beats me what will happen when B3 gets the "Gollie Wobbles" again.
If we're confused, how do you think the ordinary viewer gets on!!!
Instead of paying record dividends and exorbitant salaries to their CEOs, they should get their act together and provide a far more reliable service.
Kindest Regards, Bill and the Funfiles Team.
I don't want to hack it, happy to get a card. We can't get ABC etc here (in NZ) on B1, but they do come in on Pas 2 hence the need for a card to get them unscrambled. And I think most NZ channels will be able to picked up on C1 when B1 falls out of the sky. Sky have a special dual lnb to see B1 and C1 together.
Hi Cobber,
Keep an eye on B3 then, you may not need a card at all.
Kindest Regards,
Bill and the FunFiles Team.
Yeah the channels we're after, are on B1 but not aimed at NZ. If they change to B3 hopefully they will be. Fingers crossed..![]()
I also have gotten to the stage where PAS2 is the only place we can receive ABC channels... Any updates there?![]()
PAS 2 remains PowerVu encrypted and therefore essentially unhackable. I believe i read somewhere that these channels are essentially a legacy of a remote broadcasting service for Western Australia that predated the aurora platform and used PowerVU. Because there are still some remote farmers in WA with dishes pointed at PAS2 they remain in use but all new installation used irdeto/c1/aurora.
The best you can hope for is that the ABC channels that were on b1 and are now on NSS 5 will be receivable from NZ when it is switched over to d1 but i doubt that will be the case. I thought i heard reports of Aurora channels being received by people in NZ with big dishes or did i just imagine that?
Aurora is recieved in NZ on 12407v 30000sr on C1. Unfortunately this frequency only has 7Central and 3 x SBS channels. (Same channel but for different timezones). You can get 7Central FTA on AMC23. 12743v 5100sr
